Equal Access Playground at Tautphaus Park

Tautphaus park’s new Equal Access Playground is fun for the whole family. Pack a lunch for the day and head for Tautphaus park. Located near Shelter #2, just north of the funland, and west of the sunken baseball diamond, this new playground accommodates everyone. The Toyland is adjacent to a large gravel parking lot for many cars to park. The canal that runs through Tautphaus park runs along side of the toyland with ducks and other wildlife wandering and swimming around.

There are many different types of toys, slides, bars, bridges, and just about anything you can think of that would be a blast for children to play on. There is even a giant sand pit with tractor-type toys for kids to practice and pretend they are scooping up dirt to build something. The entire play area has a very soft, fall-friendly surface to walk, run, crawl, and play on.

There are numerous monkey bars, a few slides, and tops that kids can sit and spin. Watch out as we've seen a few children get out of the spinning tops and fall to the ground because they were so busy spinning around. There are also balance beams and leap frog toys for all ages.

The city of Idaho Falls has done a wonderful job adding this all access playground, and home depot was wonderful enough to donate a portion of the equipment. Whatever age your child is, he/she will have tons of fun on the 50 plus types of activities and toys to play with. The covered shelter also offers parents a nice shaded or wind-blocking shelter to sit in and watch their kids smile.

The swing sets are top of the line. Heavy duty setup with two special swings for all children to swing and laugh safely. These swings will allow children to swing high and safely as the swings themselves are completely self-contained with restraints. The best we've seen! There are also chimes for the kids to play music on plus other new and cool stations that allow kids to play tunes through their beating of the music pipes.

Complete with climbing equipment, slides, swings, sand toys and rocking boats. Spinning bucket seats, rocking ships, and wide ramps. Near the shelter, there is a Sound Garden with musical pipes for the children (and adults) to bang on and make their own music. Hat's off to the City of Idaho Falls for providing such a needed and well built toy for all ages to enjoy for years.
